Wilsons Auctions kicks off the New Year with three new government contracts across the UK

The auction company has secured contracts with NI’s Department of Finance, Cheshire Constabulary and the Police and Crime Commissioners for South Wales, Gwent and Dyfed Powys

Wilsons Auctions’ New Year is off to a great start as it announces its success in being awarded three government contracts across the UK, expanding its services to the Department of Finance in Northern Ireland, Cheshire Constabulary and the Police and Crime Commissioners for South Wales, Gwent and Dyfed Powys.

The UK and Ireland’s largest independent auction company has been awarded a four-year contract by the Department of Finance for the Provision of Auctions Services for vehicles and associated garage equipment by public auction on behalf of selected public sector bodies in Northern Ireland.

The contract will cover fleet vehicles, vehicles seized through proceeds of crime and associated parts as required including engine components and certain items of equipment such as mobile and fixed plant.

In addition, it has been awarded a five-year contract by the Cheshire Constabulary for the Provision of Property Store Disposal Services.

The contract will cover lost and found items where the owner has not been identified, unclaimed property and seized property that turns out to have been stolen and therefore cannot be returned to the person who it was seized from.

And finally, a four-year contract by the Police and Crime Commissioners for South Wales, Gwent and Dyfed Powys for the provision of auction services for Haulage, Storage and Disposal of Seized Goods.

The contract will cover all categories of assets including vehicles, land and property, vessels, designer clothing, jewellery and watches.

Peter Johnston, Group Operations Director at Wilsons Auctions said, “There is no better way to start the New Year than announcing our success in being awarded three government contracts across the UK. These contracts for Wilsons Auctions further adds to the work it already carries out as the leading provider of asset management services to public and private sector organisations across the UK, Ireland and beyond.

“With the ability to identify, recover, store and dispose of any category of asset, this contract vindicates our methodology and our commitment to supporting the fight against crime by minimising the costs and maximising the return on assets seized from criminals as well as our recovery work in the disposal of assets. We are proud of the work we carry out on behalf of our government clients and this contract will allow us to add to the £100 million worth of assets that have realised in recent years,” he added.
