Wilsons Auctions awarded 25 million pound UK multi-agency Government contract

We are delighted to announce we have been awarded a significant multi-agency government contract creating 25 jobs across the UK.

Wilsons Auctions has been awarded a multi-agency contract, worth in excess of £25 million and creating 25 jobs, as the sole provider for the sale of assets seized by law enforcement and government agencies across the UK.

The auction company will be responsible for assets seized by South Wales Police, Gwent Police, Dyfed Powys Police, Natural Resources Wales as well as Avon and Somerset Police, Gloucestershire Police, Derbyshire Police, Police Service of Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency.

The contract was signed by Wilsons Auction, which has branches across the UK and Ireland, to sell assets including cars, vans, boats and yachts, plant and machinery, land and property, jewellery and watches as well as personal property from designer clothes and accessories to electronic equipment, computers, sports equipment and furniture.

Wilsons Auctions has paid in excess of £80 million into the public purse from the proceeds of asset recovery over recent years and will continue to add to this for up to the next three years, by signing this multi-agency deal.

Aidan Larkin, Wilsons Auctions’ Group Asset Recovery Manager said, “Wilsons Auctions is delighted to have been awarded this significant contract working with a number of high profile agencies across the UK. The superior standard of service we provide in the collection, valuation and auctioning of assets on behalf of our extensive client base is testament to our expertise in this area and we are thrilled to be able to increase our work force by 25 across the UK as a result of this contract.

“Wilsons Auctions is proud to manage the asset recovery of over 30 law enforcement agencies in the UK and Republic of Ireland and by providing an online auction facility we are opening up our business to a worldwide audience on behalf of our clients as well as accommodating physical bidders in our auction houses,” he added.

Wilsons Auctions has been in business since 1936 and is the largest independently owned auction house in the UK and Ireland. With more locations throughout the British Isles than any other privately owned auction company, Wilsons Auctions processes a hammer total in excess of £200 million annually.
