Wilsons Auctions shortlisted for UK Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency Awards

Wilsons Auctions is delighted to be announced amongst finalists at the upcoming UK Turnaround, Restructuring, and Insolvency (TRI) Awards for 2023.

This is the only awards programme in the UK that recognises and rewards excellence across turnaround, restructuring and insolvency. Championing companies, teams, and individuals across Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency, the TRI Awards will celebrate the industry’s top achievers.

Wilsons Auctions has been listed as finalists for the Asset Valuer/Auctioneer of the Year Award based on significant innovation, continuous improvement and skilful management of worldwide customers, clients, and assets, over the last 12 months.

As an example, the auction company was appointed to the largest insolvency case seen in Ireland for many years by the receiver and the bank. Wilsons Auctions’ services were utilised from the initial receivership appointment date when we were onsite with the receiver to co-ordinate all assets located at all company sites throughout Ireland, 21 sites in total initially.

Assets ranged from full water treatment plants to large excavators and dumpers to small tools and hundreds of cabins and containers as well as over 400 road registered vehicles. Wilsons Auctions operated 24/7 to accommodate all required instructions in sensitive cases, such as the one mentioned in this example.

The auctions, physical, timed online, onsite, and offsite took place over several months. Wilsons advised on the best route to market for every asset, which included entering a regular supply of vehicles in our weekly auction program so as not to saturate the market, and to maintain residual values. Stand-alone specialist auctions were conducted for certain assets such as the cabins and containers and the specialist surveying equipment.

The company identified a significant business development and growth opportunity in providing asset management and disposal services via auction to Insolvency Services, Licenced Insolvency Practitioners, Government Bodies and Law Enforcement Agencies world-wide. Wilsons Auctions' turnover for goods sold for the 2022/23 period was in excess of £500,000,000.

Talking about the awards, Peter Johnston, Group Operations Director at Wilsons Auctions commented, “Being shortlisted for this award again is a testament to the hard work carried out by our staff across the Group, providing clients with an industry leading service as well as continually improving our offering, providing new and innovative services while targeting a global market.”

“I’m extremely proud that the company and team members are recognised for this category of work.”

The TRI Awards ceremony will take place on the 21st November in London Hilton Bankside and will recognise the challenges faced, customers supported, and opportunities seized by companies across the UK in 2023.

Good luck to everyone who has been shortlisted and we look forward to hearing the results of everyone’s success.
