Wilsons Auctions recognised at AIB Business Eye Awards 2019

We were named Highly Commended in the Company of the Year category.

Wilsons Auctions has been highly commended in the Company of the Year category at this year’s First Trust Business Eye Awards.

Now in its 14th consecutive year, this is Northern Ireland’s most prominent business awards, celebrating leading business individuals and companies across the province. Taking place at ICC Belfast and hosted by ITV’s Marc Mallett, it saw a record number of attendees descend on the venue.

Wilsons Auctions was recognised as Highly Commended in the Company of the Year category for a second year, having continued to display exceptional performance. Over the past year not only has Wilsons Auctions launched its new crypto asset service, having successfully managed auctions of various cryptocurrencies on behalf of its clients but it has seen significant growth in its online auction services throughout the group, bringing the annual number of auctions managed to over 2,000.

Speaking of the awards success, Wilsons Auctions Group Operations Director, Peter Johnston said, “We are delighted to have been recognised yet again in the First Trust Business Eye Awards, having been up against some of the leading companies in Northern Ireland. This year has seen Wilsons Auctions recognised across various industry awards, having received the Excellence in Innovation at the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards, Silver in the Innovative Family Business category at the Energia Family Business Awards and named Best Technology Provider at the Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency (TRI) Awards.

Wilsons Auctions was formed in 1936 by William J Wilson starting from a single auction site in Co. Antrim. Now directed by his son Ian Wilson, it has grown to become the largest independent auction company with eighteen sites across the UK and Ireland and achieves an annual hammer total in excess of £313 million.
