Why Buy a Used Motability Car?

What is Motability and why are their cars such a good purchase for motor traders and private buyers?

Wilsons Auctions recently announced their continued partnership with Motability Operations to sell, by auction, their end of lease vehicles.

But what is Motability and why are their cars such a good purchase for motor traders and private buyers?

Motability is a scheme for disabled people, their carers or families, which provides a simple way to lease a new car. After the lease period is up, which is usually a period of 3 years, these vehicles are often sold on to motor traders or private individuals.

A perception may be that Motability cars have been adapted to suit a specific disability, and while some may have been, often you will find a Motability car with no alterations. (Here is one happy customer who came to one of our auctions and found a wheelchair accessible car perfect for their needs!)

Why should you consider buying a 2nd hand Motability vehicle at auction? With a full service history, low mileage, an average age of 3 years, it is a great way to get a well looked after car at a great price.

So where and when can I buy an ex Motability car? As part of Wilsons Auctions Portadown's fortnightly Fleet & Finance Auction, starting on 14th January, we have a great selection of used Motability cars on offer with some as young as 2015. You can view all Motability vehicles on our website. For those interested in bidding outside of Northern Ireland, we have our online bidding facility.
