Headline Sponsorship Announced for Ulster Region Grand Prix Summer Series

Wilsons Auctions is delighted to continue as headline sponsor ahead of the 2023 Ulster Region Grand Prix Showjumping Summer League.

Building on last year’s showjumping series, the Ulster Region in association with Showjumping Ireland, will host 7 legs at venues across Northern Ireland. The series starts on 17th June and includes National Balmoral Championship on 6th July and leading agricultural shows such as Enniskillen, Omagh and Antrim. Culminating at the Grand Final at Kernan’s Equestrian Centre on the 26th August, the final will boast a substantial prize fund of £10,000. An additional £10,000 will be shared amongst the winning horse and rider combinations competing throughout the summer league.

Ulster Region Committee Chairman, Derek Reid commented, “I am delighted that Wilsons Auctions has agreed to sponsor the Grand Prix Series again for this year. The additional funding from Wilsons Auctions will help support the prize fund for our members and hosting venues. On behalf of the Ulster Region Committee, I extend our sincere gratitude to Wilsons Auctions for their kind and generous sponsorship, and we look forward to future cooperation and a very successful Grand Prix Series.”

Featuring classes from 90cm  up to the 135cm Grand Prix, the Ulster Regional Series caters for a range of abilities plus it highlights some of the country’s top talent, developing a ‘stepping ston’e for athletes and horses preparing for larger national shows. Each leg of the series will offer horse and rider combinations, senior course builders and substantial prize funds.

Speaking about the sponsorship, Wilsons Auctions’ Marketing Manager Tori Dixon commented, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Showjumping Ireland to support the Ulster Region series for this summer. It’s clear to see the organisers of this league are extremely passionate about improving the offering to showjumping competitors across Northern Ireland. With more junior legs included in this year’s league, the generous prize funds should certainly attract great competition for all levels. I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope to see you at the final in August!”

Ulster Region Horse Committee Chairman, Michael Cave went on to say, “I want to take this opportunity to thank Wilsons Auctions for their continued commitment to grassroots equestrian sport. Our members have a bigger and better summer series to look forward to thanks to the generous support received for the 2023 competitions.”
