WHO CAN SELL AT AUCTION?
We welcome both private sellers and businesses to sell anything from 1 item to thousands of items at our auctions across the UK & Ireland. For businesses, we can even hold the auction at your place!
WHERE DO I START?
Contact your local branch to arrange a free valuation of your item/s, if required.
We offer free valuations for items and appraisals for properties. Our experienced valuers will inspect your item / property for free and, if viable for auction, will advise of the best auction for it to be entered into.
WE AUCTION EVERYTHING!
Our auctions include;
- Plant & Machinery
- Catering Equipment
- Land & Property
- Luxury Goods; yachts, super cars, diamonds
- General Items, e.g. bikes, household goods, jewellery
WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF SELLING AT AUCTION?
- An entry fee will apply to sell a vehicle at auction.
- Once your vehicle is sold, we will charge you one entry fee and commission + VAT.
- If your vehicle is unsold and you take it out of the auction, you will be required to pay the entry fee for each auction the vehicle appeared in.
All other items
- Entry fees & commission apply, once your item has been sold.
- If your item does not sell, no fees will apply.
Deliver your item to your chosen auction branch and we will allocate to the next auction most suitable to achieve the best possible price.
We can assist with the collection from you, if required and also organise to enhance the appearance of the item, on your behalf, prior to the auction. Remember that properly presented Lots achieve much better returns.
TO RESERVE OR NOT TO RESERVE?
A reserve price protects you from having to sell your item at a price that you feel is too low. We will advise you on a realistic reserve for your item and this amount is not disclosed to bidders.
Items with no reserve price can often generate more interest and bidding. In this instance, your Lot will be sold to the highest bidder and we will then contact you to confirm the sale price.
WHAT WILL HELP MAKE MY PRODUCT SELL?
Please provide us with as much information on the item as possible; even the smallest detail can help to sell your Lot. The information you give us will, if applicable, be used by the auctioneer, so help us help you!
DO I HAVE TO ATTEND THE AUCTION WHEN MY ITEM IS FOR SALE?
You are welcome to attend the auction to see your Lot being offered for sale. It can be useful to be at the auction if you have placed a reserve on your Lot, as the auctioneer may need you to make a decision on a bid placed, so the sale can be confirmed. Please make yourself available to the auctioneer prior to it coming up for sale.
If you choose not to attend the auction and have placed a reserve price on your Lot, we will contact you after it has been auctioned to confirm the sale price or ask for your acceptance to a provisional bid. Remember to make yourself available on the telephone number you provided when booking your item in for sale.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I ENTER MY ITEM/S FOR AUCTION?
You can enter your item or vehicle as many times as you like, however please be aware of entry fee costs where applicable if your item is unsold. The highest bid is generally achieved the first time an item is offered for auction. Re-entering items for auction can result in them becoming ‘auction tired’ and attracting lower bids.
A well-presented, sensibly reserved item will generally sell in its first auction.
WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT PAYMENT?
Payment can be made by transfer or by cheque which can be posted or collected from any of our offices.
